Sara Kuris’ love of animals has been a guiding factor throughout her life. She has served on the board of the Gulf Coast Humane Society, contributed to numerous causes supporting local and national rescue groups, fostered several dogs in her home and continues to work relentlessly for animals in need. With the help of holistic veterinarian Dr. Pam Montgomery-Fitz, Kuris developed a cooked, frozen food product line for dogs made with 100% Human Grade ingredients and produced in a USDA Human Food Facility. By providing fresh cooked meals for dogs, Kuris and her company have challenged an entire industry to rethink its approach to providing healthy meals for man’s best friend. Frenchie’s Kitchen Dog Food is now being sold in more than 80 Whole Foods stores and has been named to Susan Thixton’s 2013 List of Best Pet Foods.
In addition to supporting the local community through the use of local ingredients and workers, a portion of all profits made by Frenchie’s Kitchen is given to animal rescue groups and no-kill shelters throughout the U.S. The company donates meals to rescue dogs with severe digestive and skin issues and recently founded a “Feast for Furry Friends” which provided healthy Thanksgiving Turkey Entrees to the homeless dogs at a local animal shelter. The passion, vision and relentless commitment of Sara Kuris and Frenchie’s Kitchen continues to make a difference one paw at a time.
